Entry #3 - Fingerprinting

Haha, I suddenly realised that there were the existence of worksheets!

...actually, I'll not be...right in the head if I didn't realise there were worksheets, but for the first time I thought of referring to the worksheets to jolt my memory of what I have learnt and thus successfully blog it up on Blogspot.

Ok, so from this entry on, we'll be doing real journalling. Yay! :D

...I feel like a nut.

Anyway, as you can see from the above, Entry #3 will be on fingerprinting. Which reminds me that, a long time ago, they actually used body proportions to identity people, but although it was somewhat a large help from the time when, in ancient China, they sometimes used torture to make (possibly INNOCENT) people 'fess up, it wasn't exactly very...helpful, I guess.

I can't help but think it's the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Especially in this era where plastic surgery is rampant.

Oh well.

Until now I can't quite identify some of the fingerprint characteristics, so identifying my own fingerprints was a chore (and required my friends' help) but in any case, if you are so free as to continue reading on, apparently my ten fingers have these finerprint characteristics:

Right thumb: Plain whorl (I'm EXTREMELY proud of this! I love my right thumb ~)
Right index: Double loop whorl
Right middle: Plain whorl
Right ring: Ulnar loop
Right little: Ulnar loop

Left thumb: Double loop whorl
Left index: Radial loop
Left middle: Radial loop
Left ring: Plain whorl
Left little: Radial loop

I'm mainly whorls and loops (no arches) and I think that's why I'm a very...circular person, in a way. Nicely rounded.

Anyway, we attempted - attempted - to lift fingerprints during this course. My iodine fingerprint was quite prominent, and you could see my carbon graphite fingerprint, but I wasn't able to see my superglue fingerprint because there was too much glue that went gloop onto the plastic sheet.

...and I lost my iodine fingerprint!

It was really cool, too. Slightly yellowish, and my ridges were clear. I think it just means I have an oily thumb.
